"We
have peoples power, were going to stand united with one
voice." - Sarah James, Gwich'in Steering Committee
"America's Last Frontier" was first scene on MTV
News briefs with a call to action to stop the mandate to
drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The
film premiered at the United Nations World Summit in South
Africa and went on to air four times across the African
continent. "We had amazing feedback from our viewers
and they enjoyed the educational ride, the critical
message so eloquently brought across with the beauty of
Alaska and music that could become a hit in South
Africa" - Antonitte Terblanche, SABC Africa.
From the heart of the Gwich'in Nation to the steps of the
capital, United Nations Ambassador of Youth for the
Environment, Robby Romero of Red Thunder takes us on a
musical journey deep into this diverse and controversial
struggle to protect and preserve the birthplace and
calving grounds of the Porcupine Caribou Herd and the last
remaining untouched ecosystems in North America, The
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
On bush planes, dogsleds and snow-go’s with Gwich’in
spokeswoman, and recipient of the “Emerging Leaders In A
Changing World” award, Sarah James, Eyak spokesman and
TIME Magazines “Hero for the Planet,” Dune Lankard,
and Chief Evon Peter, Alaska's youngest Athabaskan Chief,
"America's Last Frontier" touches down in remote
villages nestled in this icy tundra. The spoken word
of these courageous Native leaders with the united voice
of the Gwich’in and the songs of the worlds foremost
socially aware Native Rock band, echoes from community and
concert halls in Alaska to Washington DC for a political
charged rally with appearances by Faith Gammill, Senator
Joe Lieberman, William H. Meadows, Senator Ted Stevens and
Senator Paul David Wellstone, expressing visions, warnings
and solutions to America’s young and soon to be in
charge.
With special appearances by Julia Butterfly and Horst M.
Rechelbacher, the music movement travels deep into the
spillzone as an emergence of hope gathers for a historic
concert event in Anchorage, Alaska, marking the 13th
memorial anniversary of America’s worst oil spill, the
Exxon Valdez. "If there is any oil spilled on tundra
in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, there is
absolutely no way the oil industry can clean it up, not
now, not ever." - Dune Lankard, Eyak Preservation
Council
With a series of MTV News briefs to our young and soon to
be in charge, THUNDERSTORM A Music Movement draws

rockumentry "America's Last Frontier." This film
special premiered on SABC Africa during the United Nations
World Summit September 1, 2002. "America's Last
Frontier" screened at the National Congress of
American Indians conference, San Diego, CA November 13,
2002, and during the United Nations Indigenous Peoples
