Red Thunder’s Robby Romero Stirs the Crowd
With
his mother a film actress who appeared in several Elvis
Presley movies, singer-songwriter Robby Romero of Red
Thunder grew up with one foot in each world. The handsome and
charismatic performer gave three performances Saturday at
“All Our Colors: The Good Road” concert at Shoreline. The four-piece
band featured the guitar, vocals and songs of Romero, who
boasts a powerful vocal style and stirring, somewhat folky
songs that treat sensitive matters of spirituality with
firm certainty. Red Thunder is
signed for management with a prominent mainstream firm.
“[The] philosophy, spirituality and thought [inherent in
Red Thunder’s music] is something we all need to
share.” — Joel Selvin
